The relay mode uses Digit's stereo vision and wrist force sensors to align with belt heights, then signals proximate AMRs over Wi-Fi 6E when ready to hand off parcels. A predictive scheduler keeps handovers under eight seconds.

U.S. retailer H-E-B piloted the workflow in a San Antonio facility where ceiling trusses block gantry installs. The company says Digit filled a gap between conveyors and AMRs without major layout changes, boosting hourly throughput by 11%.

Agility is offering relay kits as a software update with optional retrofits for end-of-arm tooling. The company also released analytics dashboards so operators can watch dwell times and triage any choke points.
