Users quit ChatGPT in droves, and the streets of London saw what was billed as the biggest AI protest to date. It’s not just memes and hot takes—these moves are shaping access to models, budget lines, and who gets to decide how AI is deployed in war, crime, and daily life.

The drama isn’t only about policy theater. The report notes Anthropic’s pivot toward military applications as a signal that even “ethical” AI firms are navigating a world where defense and intelligence demand speed, scale, and certainty. Meanwhile, OpenAI hired the creator of OpenClaw, an agent platform whose viral rise underscores a broader shift: AI agents are becoming product workhorses, not just demos.     The core reality beneath the hype is stark: AI is being weaponized not only as a military capability but as a governance and market lever.
