The blueprint was shared with MIT Technology Review, signaling a shift from hype to shared verification norms in a landscape where “what’s real” is increasingly negotiable.
The technical report details how provenance and verification signals could be embedded or attached to content, aiming to let platforms, publishers, and users distinguish authentic material from fakes. It’s built around the idea of verifiable proofs rather than just detection scores—an attempt to create a verifiable trail that survives platform handoffs and edits. In short, this is an invitation to formalize authenticity in a way that scales beyond a single company’s firewall.
