Astro now links to FDA-cleared pulse oximeters and blood pressure cuffs, syncing daily readings to a caregiver dashboard. If vitals spike, the robot can navigate to the resident, initiate a check-in and call designated contacts via Alexa Together.

The robot's vision stack also monitors gait changes and potential fall risks, prompting preventative exercises through on-screen coaching. Amazon says the features run locally with encrypted backups to protect privacy.

Health systems including Providence are piloting Astro with chronic care programs. The suite will roll out in the U.S. early next year with HIPAA-compliant data handling once customers link their provider accounts.
