AutomationMag.com says Elmech Automations will design the line.

Dahl President Jon Kronemeyer called the current line a heavily reworked “Frankenstein” system.

He said it no longer has a repair manual.

Dahl expects the new line to raise shift capacity.

What Is Running Now

Dahl began its automation work about five years ago, AutomationMag.com reports.

Its Gnutti rotary transfer machine makes valve bodies from raw brass.

The machine has a built-in washer.

Dahl says it makes one part every 3.5 seconds.

AutomationMag.com reports throughput of 1,200 parts per hour.

Traditional Wickman screw machines took 15 to 17 seconds per part.

Those parts also needed a separate wash to remove grease.

Dahl aims to add a second Gnutti unit by the end of 2028.

Deployment Stage and Unknowns

The Elmech line is a planned deployment, not an installed system.

Dahl’s existing Gnutti machine is already in use.

Kronemeyer said Dahl connects training with its systems integrator.

Teams will travel to Italy to learn the equipment, he said.

No payback period was provided.

No line cost, uptime target, labor savings, or acceptance tests were supplied.

Ramp-up timing after installation also remains unclear.
