Generative Bionics Unveils Gene.01 Humanoid at AMD Advancing AI 2026

The company says it built the tactile-sensing humanoid in six months and is adapting it with Fincantieri for shipyard operations.

Generative Bionics unveiled its Gene.01 humanoid robot at AMD Advancing AI 2026, marking the platform’s U.S. debut.

The company said Gene.01 was built in six months as a fully functional, sensorized humanoid platform for industrial applications. Its core feature is distributed tactile skin across the body, designed to detect touch, temperature, proximity, and force.

Generative Bionics said the robot uses a physics-native AI system that integrates its body, mechanics, and intelligence to help it interpret and respond to the physical world. The company said it develops the platform’s sensing, design, and AI capabilities as a unified system.

Daniele Pucci, CEO of Generative Bionics, described Gene.01 as a scalable platform rather than a one-size-fits-all humanoid. He said it can be customized across AI, design, and end-effector levels for customer requirements.

The company is adapting Gene.01 for its first industrial use case through a collaboration with shipbuilder Fincantieri focused on shipyard operations.

Generative Bionics also said it plans to open-source Gene.01’s robot model, providing a foundation for physical AI developers building industry-specific applications.
