KUKA Adds Carbon Monitoring Suite to SimPro Planner

The update pulls data from equipment libraries and pairs it with regional energy mix forecasts. Engineers can compare carbon per unit when they tweak robot density or add collaborative stations.

Siemens Gamesa used the suite to reconfigure a nacelle assembly line, trimming projected emissions by 9% while keeping throughput constant. The planner exports carbon reports aligned with CDP and CSRD disclosures.

KUKA will expose the carbon calculations through an API so corporate sustainability teams can ingest the metrics. The company plans to certify the methodology with SGS auditors before year-end.
