Caseta users can now control lights, shades, and music with “Hey Sonos.”

What Changed

Digital Trends reports that Lutron Caseta now works with Sonos Voice Control.

Users can say “Hey Sonos” to control Caseta lights, shades, and Sonos playback. They can also make presets that change lights, shades, and music at once.

Caseta is Lutron’s do-it-yourself smart lighting line. Its Smart Hub links switches, dimmers, and plugs.

To turn on the feature, users link devices in the Lutron app. Then they enable “Sonos Voice Control” in Integrations.

The Catch

This is not a robotics product or a physical robot feature. It is a smart-home voice control update.

Digital Trends says voice commands require a Sonos speaker with a built-in microphone. Older Sonos speakers without microphones will not work.

You also need a Caseta setup with the Smart Hub. The listed starter kits include that hub.

The report says Caseta switches, dimmers, and plugs support voice control. It does not name every compatible Sonos speaker model.

Cost and Verdict

Digital Trends lists the Smart Switch Kit at $94.95. Smart Dimmer and Lamp Dimming Plug kits cost $99.95 each. The Diva Dimmer Kit costs $119.95.

Verdict: Buy if you already own Caseta and a microphone-equipped Sonos speaker.

Wait if your Sonos speaker lacks a microphone. No workaround is confirmed.
