Available now for $1,695, the Serene promises less noise without switching to a weaker cleaning mode.
Matic’s Serene robot vacuum is aimed at people who want to run a cleaner while they are home. The Verge reports that it reaches 52 decibels at maximum suction, which Matic compares with the sound of a running refrigerator.
That is the key change. Many robot vacuums become quieter by reducing suction, but Matic says the Serene keeps cleaning at full power. Mehul Nariyawala, Matic’s cofounder and president, told The Verge that users mostly hear the brush roll on carpets and hard floors.
The catch is price. The Serene costs $1,695 and is available now, while the original Matic remains on sale for $1,495. That makes the quieter model a $200 premium, with no other major product change described by the company beyond its new hardware stack.
Existing Matic owners can request an upgrade in early 2027. The Verge reports that Matic plans to charge the difference between the owner’s original purchase price and $1,695. Someone who paid the original launch price of $1,095, for example, could owe $600.
Matic’s noise figure remains a company claim rather than an independent test. The Verge says full testing and a review are forthcoming, so buyers should treat the Serene as a targeted upgrade—not a proven leap in cleaning performance.
For noise-sensitive shoppers, the Serene deserves attention if $1,695 fits the budget. Everyone else should consider the $1,495 original until independent tests show the quieter operation is consistent across real homes.
