Samsung Ballie Shows Signs of Life

Leaked app screens hint at home monitoring tools. Samsung still has not confirmed a product launch.

New images shared by SammyGuru appear to show a companion app for Samsung’s Ballie robot.

Digital Trends says the app wireframes show battery level, location, and error messages. They also include a “Streaming” button. That could allow a live camera view and remote control.

The screens also show shortcuts for home patrols and greeting guests. One setup screen suggests Ballie could map rooms like a robot vacuum.

The Ambient reports other controls labeled “Home Monitor” and “Greeting.” If real, they point to remote home checks and interaction.

Why shoppers should stay cautious

Ballie first appeared as a concept at CES 2020. Samsung showed an upgraded version at CES 2024.

Samsung has never set a release date. It has not confirmed these app images, either.

The Ambient reports Bloomberg said Ballie was sidelined after delays. Samsung called it an “active innovation platform.” The company did not say whether consumers will ever buy it.

The leaked screens have an unclear source. They may be design mockups rather than working software.
