Unitree presents the 2.7-meter manned mech as an off-road robot; an event account reported no sales by September 26.
Unitree Robotics is presenting its GD01 manned transforming mech as a vehicle for difficult outdoor terrain, rather than indoor urban use. Founder Wang Xingxing called it “an off-road vehicle among robots,” designed for strong mobility and tasks in wilderness environments, according to IT Home.
The GD01 stands nearly 2.7 meters tall and was reported released in May with a starting price of 3.9 million yuan. It appeared at the Global Digital Trade Expo in Hangzhou, held from September 23 to 27.
Wang said large and small robots can be developed and deployed at the same time. He also described large robots as an industry trend, arguing that similar products will emerge even if Unitree does not build them.
Commercial progress remains limited in the available account. IT Home, citing event staff and STAR Market Daily, reported that many visitors had asked about the price, but staff said no unit had yet been sold as of September 26.
