The planned battery targets 90 minutes of runtime per charge, but the performance claims have not been independently verified.

Agility Robotics says it is working with Nyobolt on a fast-charging battery system for Digit 5, its humanoid robot for work around people. The Robot Report reports that Agility expects early access to equipped robots in the first half of 2027, with availability increasing over the next six to nine months.

Agility says the battery will provide 90 minutes of runtime and recharge in nine minutes. That would create a stated 10-to-1 run-to-charge ratio, compared with 2-to-1 for the earlier Digit 4.

The companies also claim Digit 5 could perform more than 20 hours of work in a 24-hour day. In practical terms, that promise depends on how often the robot works, charges, pauses, and changes tasks. The announcement does not explain those operating conditions.

Nyobolt says its battery design combines new anode materials, battery cells, and power electronics to support fast charging and high power density. Those features could reduce downtime for warehouse, distribution, and manufacturing work if they perform as claimed.

The Robot Report’s account does not independently verify the runtime, nine-minute charging time, 10-to-1 ratio, or more-than-20-hour workday claim. It also does not provide charging-power requirements, battery cycle life, task mix, or customer results.

For operators, the next useful test is early access under real workloads: whether the battery can recharge safely and repeatedly without reducing payload, uptime, or operating economics.
