Agility Robotics and GXO plan more Digit deployments in early 2027, extending a live warehouse program rather than announcing a finished rollout.

Agility Robotics and GXO Logistics are expanding their partnership to deploy Digit humanoid robots at additional GXO sites, according to The Robot Report. The companies expect those deployments to begin in early 2027 using Digit 4.

The expansion builds on a commercial program that began at GXO’s Flowery Branch, Georgia, facility in late 2023. The companies say Digit has moved more than 100,000 totes there while working alongside existing warehouse automation.

In practical terms, Digit handles repetitive material movement: moving totes and placing them onto conveyors. Agility’s Arc platform provides cloud-based fleet management and helps integrate the robot with the surrounding operation.

That makes the announcement meaningful for deployment planning, but it does not establish a broad rollout or economic success across warehouses. The announcement does not state how many robots will be involved, what the contract terms are, or whether the additional deployments have begun.

The Robot Report also reported that GXO CEO Patrick Kelleher said during an August earnings call that GXO had conducted 45 humanoid pilots and had not yet achieved a return on investment from humanoids. That earlier statement puts the expansion in context: the companies are moving from one live site toward more tests and deployments, while the business case remains under evaluation.

For operators, the next useful evidence will be consistent results across sites: task performance, uptime, safety, labor impact, and cost. Those measures will show whether Digit’s experience in one warehouse transfers to broader logistics work.
