The retailer is working with Hy-Tek Intralogistics and Hai Robotics, but the project’s rollout stage and results are not yet clear.

NAPA Auto Parts is pursuing warehouse automation to use storage space more efficiently and improve order accuracy, Supply Chain Dive reports. The retailer is working alongside Hy-Tek Intralogistics and Hai Robotics on both goals.

Operationally, the effort could change how parts are stored, located, and picked for shipment. Higher storage density means fitting more inventory into the same warehouse footprint. Better order accuracy means sending customers the correct parts and quantities more consistently.

Those changes matter in auto-parts distribution, where a picking error can create rework, returns, delays, or another shipment. However, NAPA’s stated goals are not reported performance results. No storage gains or accuracy improvements are established yet.

The project’s stage is also unclear. The information available does not identify the facilities involved, the systems being installed, a rollout timeline, or whether the work is a pilot or broader deployment.

For operators, the useful next measure is a before-and-after comparison. NAPA would need to track storage capacity, order-error rates, throughput, labor needs, and fulfillment time to show whether the automation improves daily operations rather than simply changing the equipment.
