Technology Hi客 reports visits to three automotive suppliers, but no production approval or delivery schedule is confirmed.
Tesla’s robotics team reportedly inspected suppliers in Ningbo before September 21, according to Technology Hi客. The companies named were Tuopu Group, Sanhua Intelligent Controls and Joyson Electronics, which have previously supplied Tesla vehicles.
The reported inspections appear aimed at checking production-line quality and compliance before possible robot-component manufacturing. Technology Hi客 also quoted people familiar with the industry as saying the three companies had already secured Tesla orders for humanoid-robot parts, including joint modules, actuators—motor-driven movement units—and precision structural components.
Those orders remain a reported claim, not a confirmed supplier award in the available record. The report does not establish whether Tesla approved the factories, when production might begin, or how many parts could be ordered.
For Chinese automotive-parts companies, the potential opportunity is practical rather than symbolic. Their existing strengths in precision manufacturing, process control and cost management could transfer to robot components. But a vehicle supplier still needs to prove that its parts can deliver reliable movement across a humanoid robot’s many joints and operating conditions.
Technology Hi客 describes different positions among the three companies. Tuopu is expanding from linear actuators into rotary actuators, hand motors and robot structures. Sanhua is developing electromechanical actuators and moving toward dedicated robot production lines. Joyson has reported using humanoid robots at some automotive-component factories while building robotics partnerships and subsidiaries.
The next useful signal is a disclosed supply agreement, Tesla confirmation, or evidence of regular component production. Until then, the Ningbo visits indicate supplier qualification—not a confirmed humanoid-robot deployment or scaled production order.
