Dreame Unveils Cyber X Stair Carrier for Europe

Europe just met the world’s first stair climbing vacuum carrier.

Dreame used its Dreame Sphere event in France to unveil the X60 Pro Series robot vacuums and to preview a new companion device, the Cyber X. The Cyber X is not a robot vacuum itself; it is a dedicated transport module designed to carry compatible Dreame vacuums between floors. In other words, it is a stair lifting carrier wrapped in a chassis that works with Dreame’s own line of floor cleaners. Dreame describes Cyber X as a bionic quad track stair climbing system, built to shuttle a vacuum up and down stairs so cleaning can happen across multiple levels without a human lugging gear.

The mechanism sounds almost sci fi but is rooted in concrete specs. When a vacuum reaches a staircase, four tracked arms unfold and bite into the steps. Dreame claims industrial grade rubber tracks grip a variety of surfaces and stair configurations, including straight, L shaped, spiral, and open risers, as well as carpeted stairs. The carrier is designed to tackle slopes up to 42 degrees, manage a first step height up to 30 centimeters, and clear obstacles as tall as 35 centimeters. Safety features are part of the package too: an anti-shear structure and a triple brake system are meant to keep the system stable around people and pets and prevent slips along the staircase.

For consumers, the fundamental idea is simple in concept but ambitious in execution: end-to-end floor cleaning in multi-story homes without carrying a vacuum up and down stairs. The Cyber X module is positioned as an accessory to the new X60 Pro Series, which Dreame unveiled at the same event. In practice this means you would buy the X60 Pro Series vacuum and pair it with Cyber X to shuttle that vacuum between floors, enabling automated cleaning across levels with a single device ecosystem.

From a practical standpoint, there are a handful of meaningful tradeoffs and constraints to watch. First, the price and availability are not disclosed yet. Second, the carrier requires a compatible Dreame vacuum and you can’t buy Cyber X as a standalone cleaning robot. That creates a degree of ecosystem lock in; if you already own competing lines, you won’t be able to plug them into the Cyber X carrier. Third, maintenance and safety on stairs introduce new failure modes. The unfolding four-armed mechanism adds moving parts that could require periodic inspection, especially in households with pets or heavy foot traffic. Finally, the added hardware changes the staircase dynamic in a home. Weight, footprint, and the potential for noise or vibration on the steps are practical considerations for renters and small-space homes.

The X60 Pro line itself is positioned as a premium offering with advanced features, and the Cyber X pairing is the company’s bid to broaden its value proposition for multi-level residences. The decision buyers face hinges on three questions: does the math pencil out in terms of convenience versus price, is the ecosystem lock-in acceptable given your other devices, and how reliable will the stair carrier prove in daily use once the novelty wears off? For households with multiple floors and inclined stair layouts, the Cyber X promises a singular benefit: continuous cleaning momentum across levels with minimal human intervention.
