Genisom AI debuts deployable quadruped at ICRA

Genisom AI used ICRA 2026 in Vienna to show that robotics startups can reach real world production faster than the hype, presenting the M1 industrial quadruped and its L1-series siblings as mature, mass produced platforms. The company, founded in December 2023, says it has already produced and delivered more than 10,000 units, a milestone it frames as proof that manufacturing scale robotics is feasible even for new entrants. The emphasis is on deployability: a hardware software stack designed to be deployed outside the lab, with an eye toward industrial customers rather than purely research demonstrations.

The Genisom M1 is the centerpiece: a rugged quadruped rated for a 30 kg continuous walking payload and a payload to weight ratio approaching 1 to 1. That performance is anchored by Genisom AI’s in house P85MAX-S joint actuator module, which delivers up to 180 N m peak torque in a compact 86 mm form factor and weighs about 1 kg. The company says developing actuators in house gives it direct control over a crucial hardware software interface that shapes locomotion, payload capacity, and overall reliability. In other words, the engineering focus is not just on clever software or flashy demos; it’s on the tight hardware software coupling that determines whether a platform can actually survive field use.

Genisom frames its strategy as part of a broader push to move beyond laboratory demonstrations toward production scale deployment. The company notes that its approach building manufacturable platforms with in house core technologies places it in a field with peers who are pursuing similar paths toward scalable, real world robotics. The emphasis on industry deployment, combined with a rugged, serviceable platform, signals a shift from a demo in a controlled arena to ship and support in customer environments.
