The plant is designed for more than 10,000 robots a year, but its current system still depends on people and conventional automation.

UBTECH’s humanoid-robot factory in Liuzhou, Guangxi, officially began operations on September 12, Titanium Media reported. Its design calls for one robot to leave the line every 10 minutes, with planned annual capacity above 10,000 units.

That is a capacity plan, not proof of sustained production at that rate. The report does not establish the factory’s current output, utilization, yield or uptime.

UBTECH robots including the Cruzr Y1 and Cruzr S2 handle materials on the line. Their reported tasks include removing goods from pallets, stacking pallets, loading and transporting parts.

The wider system combines collaborative robots, powered assistive manipulators and autonomous logistics vehicles. Assembly stations use rotating work surfaces, which can help workers handle heavy parts and switch between models.

However, the core assembly of the humanoid robots still relies on human collaboration and conventional automated equipment, Titanium Media reported. “Robots making robots” therefore describes a shared production process, not a fully unmanned factory.

UBTECH and Siemens jointly developed the Yanshee manufacturing operations management system for the site. It connects work orders, material delivery, process control, quality tracking and warehouse coordination across the factory.

The more immediate value is industrial testing. Using UBTECH’s own robots on a production line can expose hardware and software weaknesses and provide data for later product changes.

Commercial scale remains unproven. Titanium Media reported that many customer projects are pilots or production-line training programs; customers may assess results for six months before expanding purchases. The key next signs will be steady output, reliable operation and repeat orders beyond those trials.
