A humanoid robot just got its first real job on a live production line in Austria.

Hexagon Robotics and Fill Maschinenbau have announced a collaboration to define how humanoids can work alongside Fill’s manufacturing solutions to increase autonomy in advanced manufacturing.

AEON, Hexagon Robotics’ multi-purpose humanoid, will be piloted on one of Fill’s client use cases in Gurten, Austria, to demonstrate how it can be integrated within real manufacturing workflows.

The move signals a shift from demonstrations to deployment, with operators and executives watching to see whether the on-floor integration can deliver measurable throughput gains and a sustainable workflow across a live line.
